Les alliages utilisés pour les cordes commencent à partir de minerai qui est fondu à haute chaleur pour éliminer les impuretés. Le matériau est refroidi et forgé en forme pour la conversion en fil. Nos cordes sont faites avec les matières premières les plus fines et les plus fraîches qui sont spécifiées aux tolérances exigeantes pour assurer une consistance et une performance optimales. Les cordes sont constituées d'un fil de diamètre fin qui est fourni sur des bobines. Chaque type de cordes se compose d'une combinaison spécifique de matériaux de fil et de tailles.
Les extrémités à boule de guitare et de basse sont faites avec du fil en laiton. Le laiton est usiné et découpé selon des spécifications rigoureuses pour assurer un ajustement et une fonction précis. Les extrémités à boule sont ensuite nettoyées et inspectées avant qu'elles ne soient prêtes à être utilisées.
Les bobines de cordes se composent d'un noyau et d'une couche enveloppante. Les noyaux sont fabriqués en coupant le fil hexagonal en longueur et en tordant une extrémité avec une forme spécifique et un compte de torsion pour attacher une extrémité de boule. Une fois fabriqués, les noyaux sont chargés sur des machines d'enroulement qui tournent le noyau tout en posant un enroulement constant du fil enveloppant autour du noyau.
Les cordes recouvertes sont traitées en utilisant notre propre nanotechnologie. Les cordes sont montées en faisceaux qui sont chargés dans des compartiments qui préparent la surface de la corde et appliquent le traitement.
Toutes les matières premières et les cordes doivent passer par un processus d'inspection en plusieurs points. Nos cordes sont inspectées à plusieurs reprises tout au long des processus de fabrication et d'emballage.
Les cordes individuelles Ernie Ball sont bobinées et emballées individuellement dans l'ordre selon des exigences spécifiques. Les ensembles Slinky sont ensuite traités et emballés dans des emballage individuels étanches à l'air.
Les cordes sont emballées en utilisant notre conception Element Shield qui utilise un film imperméable qui est enveloppé et scellé pour assurer que les ensembles soient fournis avec une protection maximale.
Les cordes emballées sont vérifiées pour un joint d'étanchéité de qualité en utilisant une chambre d'eau sous pression qui soumet les emballages à un niveau élevé de contrainte à travers chaque joint. Cela garantit que les emballages soient complètement étanches et que la qualité du joint est optimale.
Une fois emballées et inspectées, notre dernière étape est de mettre en boîte les cordes et de les expédier pour être jouées par des musiciens du monde entier.
